Ram Temple event guest list ready

Wednesday, 06 December 2023 | Biswajeet Banerjee | Lucknow

As the eagerly awaited consecration ceremony of the Ram temple in Ayodhya approaches, the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has revealed the meticulously prepared final guest list. A total of 7,000 guests, including revered saints and sages from across the country, have been invited to partake in the historic event.

In a bid to ensure a seamless and harmonious celebration, the Trust has issued a special appeal to all attending saints and religious leaders not to bring traditional symbols such as dand, chhatra and paduka to the ceremony.

The decision was formalised during a meeting where officials from the four provinces of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and Vishwa Hindu Parishad gathered in Ayodhya.

Before the meeting, the officials inspected the ongoing work at the Ram Janmabhoomi site, along with assessing the progress of the statue construction and the tent city being set up in Bagh Bijesi.

Following these evaluations, a two-hour meeting took place at the Trust office in Ramkot, focusing on the comprehensive arrangements for accommodating, transporting and providing sustenance for the guests.

The guest list was meticulously prepared to encompass a diverse array of individuals, with particular emphasis on extending a warm welcome to approximately 2,500 sages and saints representing various traditions from around the country.

Approximately 7,000 guests, including representatives from Kedarnath, Badrinath, Baba Vishwanath Dham and Vaishno Devi temple, have been invited to witness the historic event.

While the participation of priests from major temples remains uncertain, representatives from these temples are expected to attend the consecration ceremony.

Emphasising the principle of ‘Atithi Devo Bhava’ (the guest is god), the Trust is keen on extending a grand reception to the esteemed guests. Dr Krishna Gopal, former co-secretary of the RSS, held a meeting with the officials in Ayodhya, addressing various aspects of the consecration ceremony. This included discussions on accommodation, food, healthcare, sanitation and the tent city’s provisions for the devotees. Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust general secretary Champat Rai said 21 Vedic acharyas from Kashi would conduct the consecration of the Ram temple.

The throne for Lord Ram Lalla, eight feet long and four feet wide, is ready, with the final touch of a gold layer pending.

“The Trust is making meticulous preparations to enshrine Ram Lalla on this golden throne during the Pran Pratishtha ceremony,” he said.
