India and Russia on Friday reviewed the entire spectrum of their defence and strategic ties during talks here between Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and General Sergei Shoigu on the sidelines of the Shanghai Co-operation Organisation(SCO)Defence Ministers’ meet.
The two ministers focused on various aspects of the bilateral strategic ties amid a geo-political upheaval triggered by the Ukraine conflict. India and Russia also deliberated on various aspects of bilateral cooperation as well as regional developments.
The defence ministry said the two ministers discussed wide-ranging issues of bilateral defence cooperation, including military-to-military ties as well as industrial partnership. They also discussed the Russian defence industry’s participation in the ‘Make in India’ initiative and ways to provide further impetus to it.
