Managing Director (MD) of Purvanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited (PVVNL) Shambhu Kumar reviewed the progress of One-Time Settlement (OTS) scheme. Addressing a meeting of department’s officers during his inspection at 33/11 KV power substation at Ajuba in Kaushambi district on Thursday, the MD gave several directions to the concerned engineers.
The MD said that the launch of the OTS scheme is a big opportunity for the power consumers to regularise their connections as the registered customers can clear their power dues (arrears) during the OTS period without paying surcharges, Besides, he said that during the period the urban and rural power consumers will also get good waive off in their surcharges in the clearance of dues.
In the meeting, the Executive Engineer Ankit Kumar said that under the scheme, all the consumers including LMV-1 (domestic), LMV-2 (commercial), LMV-4B (private institutions), LMV-5 (private tube-wells) and LMV-6 (industrial) can take advantage of the scheme by making their pending dues clear. He said that under the scheme the consumers can get rebate upto 65 per cent in their dues and penalties.
He further said that the domestic consumers and farmers having power connections up to one kilowatt can get cent per cent waiving off their surcharges and they can get up to 90 per cent waive off if they clear the dues in 12 installments. The consumers having connections over one kilowatt can clear dues in three installments by getting 80 per cent waive off and in six installments by getting 70 per cent rebate. The commercial consumers having three kilowatt power load connections can also get 60 per cent rebate and by depositing the same in three installment, 50 per cent rebate. Similarly, the private tube-wells and industrial power consumers can also get rebate upto 50 per cent and by paying the dues in installments up to 40 per cent. He also gave all the details in this direction.
In order to make the scheme a success, the MD continued to visit different districts under the jurisdiction of PVVNL and in this direction, on the second day of the implementation of the OTS scheme he visited power substation in Kaushambi district while on the first day, power substations in Jaunpur and Pratapgarh districts.
