For the convenience of passengers, the Railway administration has decided to run 12945/12946 Veraval-Banaras-Veraval Weekly Express. Its inaugural special train (02945 Veraval-Banaras Express) will run from Veraval on Monday (September 11). However, the regular operation of 12946 from Banaras will be started from September 13, while 12945 from Veraval on September 18. It will run on every Wednesday from Banaras and on Monday. Veraval is a city and the headquarters of Gir Somnath district in Gujarat and this train will help the passengers to reach Somnath Jyotirlinga Temple and Gir National Park directly as their distances from Veraval railway station are 6.8 km and 63.7 km respectively.
The inaugural special train (02945 Veraval-Banaras) will depart from Veraval at 4.15 am on Monday and after halting at Junagadh. Jetalsar, Wadiya Deoli, Kukavav, Chital, Khijadiya, Lathi, Dhola, Botad, Dhandhuka, Sarkhej, Ahmedabad, Nadiad, Anand, Chhayapuri, Godhra, Ratlam, Nagda, Shamgarh, Kota, Gangapur City, Agra Fort, Etawah and Govindpuri arrive Prayagraj Jn at 12 noon next day and Banaras at 2.35 pm.
However, the regular 12946 Banaras-Veraval Express will depart from Banaras at 7.30 am on every Wednesday from September 13 and depart from Prayagraj Jn at 10 am and passing through the same inaugural route depart from Govindpuri at 12.55 pm, Etawah at 2.25 pm, Agra Fort at 5 pm, Gangapur City at 8 pm, Kota at 10.40 pm, Shamgarh at 12.15 am next day, Nagda at 2.10 am, Ratlam at 2.45 am, Godhra at 5.45 am, Chhayapuri ( a station of Vadodara city) at 6.35 am, Anand at 7.14 am, Nadiad at 7.31 am, Ahmedabad at 9.15 am, Sarkhej at 10.36 am, Dhandhuka at 12.11 pm, Botad at 1.16 pm, Dhola at 1.55 pm, Lathi at 2.30 pm, Khijadiya 2.42 pm, Chital at 2.53 pm, Kukaav at 3.21 pm, Wadiya Deoli at 3.51 pm, Jetalsar at 4.15 pm, Junagadh at 4.40 pm and will reach Veraval at 6.45 pm. Similarly, the regular 12945 Veraval-Banaras Express will depart from Veraval at 4.15 am on every Monday from September 18 and arrive at 12 noon next day at Banaras. This train consists of 24 coaches including one air-conditioned (AC)-I, two AC-II, six AC-III, eight sleeper class, four ordinary second class, one pantry car and two Seating and Luggage Rakes (SLRs).
