With the arrest of three people, the Garhwa police on Monday climed to solve the murder case at Sukhbana village under Garhwa police station of the district last week.
The police revealed that family land dispute was the reason behind the murder in which eight people were involved.
The incident occurred on May 21, when the victim Sheopal Singh Yadav (57) was shot dead by assilants while he was on way to Garhwa . Injured yadav was rushed to Garhwa hospital where the doctors declared him dead.
“Three people Pankaj Singh Yadav, 20, Mukesh Kumar, 22 and Vikash Kumar , 18 all resident of Sukhbana village under Garhwa police station --have been arrested for killing Sheopal Singh Yadav. We have identified five others involved in the case and a manhunt is launched to arrest them, “ said SDPO Awadh Kumar Yadav.
He added that the police had recovered weapon (pistol) used in killing. “ nephew of the deceased Pankaj Singh Yadav was the main conspirator , “ SDPO said.
According to the police investigation made so far, an old land dispute between deceased Sheopal and accused Pankaj family resulted behind the killings.
Police informed that Shivpal had made a way in his land to get out of his house. On which the family of the accused Pankaj wanted to walk, but Shivpal was refusing to walk on him. Controversy over this escalated and the matter even reached. Accused confessed that their involvement in the killing before the police.
After killing of Sheopal Garhwa SP had constituted a SIT for the investigation of the case headed by SDPO Awadh Kumar Yadav.
