Three held after man, deer electrocuted

Chhattisgarh Police on Monday arrested three poachers after a man and a spotted deer died of electrocution in a village in Bilaspur         district.

Bilaspur Senior Superintendent of Police Parul Mathur identified them as Birbal Porte, Mahipal Singh and Janak Nai.

The first two are from Bilaspur and the third is a resident of Korba district, she said.

Roop Singh Gond and a four-year-old    spotted deer were         electrocuted to death on Sunday night.

The police learnt that Gond and other accused were spotted by locals near a pond in Kanai     village and laid a live   electric wire near the pond to hunt the animal, killing both.
