The Smart Power India (SPI) launched a Rooftop Solar Programme for MSMEs in Odisha. Announcing here at Annapurna Finance complex at Khandagiri, Programme head of SPI Samit Mitra said, “Our vision is solarizing MSMEs in rural areas and improving lives through holistic socio-economic development.”
On being asked about the vision plan of SPI, Mitra explained that it is committed to creating knowledge and accountability in the public domain through robust evidence-based research and providing field and analytical support to the Government, private sector, implementers and other donors in their pursuits for rural electricity access.
While explaining the economic advantages due to SPI, Mitra asserted that its aim is to provide green jobs to the unemployed youths at the rural sector improving their socio-economic development. SPI has plans in its agenda to work on a robust engagement in the State that will support the Government of India and the Government of Odisha’s vision. The SPI will closely work with the key stakeholders to accelerate renewable energy development and increase the RPO target. Additionally, the SPI has recently launched a pilot project in aquaculture and introduced solar aerators to shrimp farmers.
Managing Director of Annapurna Finance Divyajyoti Patnaik announced that Annapurna Finance will provide hassle free loans to the enterprisers and to the rural youths for their MSME projects under SPI. Patnaik finally informed that UP, Bihar and Nagaland, Odisha are going to be a hub for SPI activities by 2024.
