NTPC Lara gets Environment Award

The National Thermal Power Corp (NTPC) super thermal power plant at Lara in Chhattisgarh's Raigarh district bagged the “Platinum Award” for Environment Preservation at the 12th EXCEED Environment Award held at Jammu on Saturday.

Minister of State (Independent) for Science and Technology and Earth Sciences Jitendra Singh   handed over the award to    Dr. Sudhir Dahiya, Assistant General Manager (EMG), NTPC Lara.

The Lara station is one of the new generation power  stations of NTPC Ltd, having the first ever 800 MW Super Critical technology.

Several measures for preservation of water and protection of the environment have been taken up by the power station. Earlier, Lara Township was awarded for less water consumption among all NTPC stations.

Diwakar Kaushik, Chief General Manager (NTPC Lara) and Akhilesh Singh, GM (Operation and Maintenance) congratulate   all employees for the    achievement.
