In view of the rising temperature, the State Government on Wednesday decided to change the timing of schools for the safety of students. The Government ordered schools to start morning classes from April 2.
Classes-I and VIII would start at 6:30 am and end at 10 am. For Classes IX and X students, the classes would begin at 7 am and continue till 11 am.
School and Mass Education Minister Samir Dash said, “The heat wave condition has forced us to revise the school timings so that the students face minimum heat during school hours.”
Notably, physical classes for students from Classes VIII to XII, along with colleges, universities and technical institutions had reopened from February 7. Classes from KG to VII were reopened from February 14.
The Government had also allowed the educational institutions to reopen their hostels for students from February 7 strictly adhering to the Covid-19 protocols.
