On a question raised by Sadar MLA Manish Jaiswal in State Assembly, a senior official of the transport department has assured to write a letter to the secretary of railway department to connect Hazaribag to big cities of the different States. After this action the people of Hazaribag are thinking that their dreams will be realised very soon.

In this regard Jaiswal said that the people of Hazaribag were demanding railway connectivity in Hazaribag. People had sent so many request letters to (DRM) Divisional Railway Manager, but did not get any response from the DRM office.

The former Union minister and Hazaribag cum BJP MP Jayant Sinha had also written a letter to the railway minister. He had received a positive response from the railways, but the situation is still the same.

Jaiswal had raised the question in the Monsoon session of Assembly. On this question the Transport secretary Kamal Kishore Soan assured him to take the action on the request by the transport department of State very soon.

The transport secretary has written a letter to the railway secretary with the request to start the long distance trains from Hazaribag station to stations like Patna, Kolkata, Varanasi, Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Chennai.

The Hazaribag- Koderma- Barkakana project foundation was laid down on 3 March 1991. The project was inaugurated by the present Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 20 February 2015.

After the inauguration a passenger train was started from Koderma to Hazaribag station, but after a few months the operation of the train was halted by the railways.
