When artists from all over the world, dressed in colorful traditional costumes gave their performance, it seemed as if the flowers of culture were blooming. The people passing by were overjoyed to see this sight of the artists enthralling the people with their captivating performances.
This confluence of art and culture of the country and abroad was seen in the carnival which was part of the inaugural ceremony of the Greenwood Uddhav Utsav.
Artists from Sri Lanka, Kyrgyzstan, Taiwan and Uzbekistan as well as 24 teams from different states of the country participated in the carnival which started from the Manas Bhawan Phoolbagh. When the carnival reached the samadhi of Veerangana Laxmibai via the Phulbagh square, the artists of all the teams displayed their art and culture there. After this, passing through the Padav junction, the colourful procession of more than 1200 artists reached the Scindia Girls School. Earlier, Taiwan's Ambassador Baushuan Ger flagged off the carnival.
Speaking as Chief Guest of the inaugural ceremony, Taiwan's Ambassador Baushuan Ger said that tourism will increase with the strengthening of cultural ties among nations. He added that as cultural ties between India and Taiwan are strengthened, tourism of both the countries will definitely get a boost. According to him, the culture of Taiwan and India complement each other, so both countries can work together to promote tourism.
Gere added that the philosophy of diverse culture and civilization has overwhelmed him. There is a homogeneity in the tribal culture of Taiwan and India. In such a situation, it will be our endeavor to promote Uddhav Utsav. For this the international media of Taiwan has come for the coverage of this festival. With this the media of India will also get an opportunity to visit our country. It will benefit both the countries culturally and economically.
Earlier, Dr. Keshav Pandey, the president of the institution, delivered the welcome address. Secretary Deepak Tomar presented the secretarial report. Principal of SKV, Nishi Mishra and Smt. Bhadauria, Director of Greenwood Public School also expressed their views. The program was conducted by Manisha Jain and Vanshika Kumari and Chandrakant Pandey gave the vote of thanks. Emerson Lin, the representative of the Central News Agency, Taiwan, was specially present on this occasion.
Earlier, on the guest's arrival, the band of SAF MP Police 2nd Battalion, Gwalior welcomed the guests by playing a welcome song in the tune of Saare Jahaan Se Achcha.
A camp was organized during the ceremony by Pink Mission. The team of Ratan Jyoti Eye Hospital conducted free tests of sugar, BP and hemoglobin under the leadership of Gwalior Coordinator Dr. Rita Mishra.
