Eye testing of 68,969 people at Sews Sadan Vision Centres

Sant Hirdaram nagar Bhopal based Sewa Sadan Eye Hospital has opened 35 Vision Centres at nearby towns and cities. As many as eye testing of 68,969 people have been done in the year 2021 on these centres. Of these 16,971 persons of weak vision were dispensed spees.

It is learnt that Sewa Sadan Eye Hospital has opened 35 Vision Centres at Harda, Babai, Sehore, Shujalpur, Khirkia, Timarni, Sirali, Akodia, Berchha, Kalapipal, Mandideep, Berasia, Kurawar, Nasurullahganj, Ladkui, Ichhawar, Kothri, Ahamadpur, Shampur, Raisen, Dehgaon, Gairatganj, Begumganj, Badi, Bareli, Ashta, Udaipura, Deori, Obaidullaganj, Khategaon, Silvani, Itarsi, Seoni Malwa, Hoshangabad and Suhagpur.

These Centers are opened with the financial assistance provided by the NGO/INGO, CBM, IOU, Mission for vision and Sight Savers. One senior Optometrist, one Data entry operator and two community health workers are posted on each centre. Blood pressure, sugar and eye testing facilities are is made available on very nominal charges on these centres.

The Cataract Surgeries of 7,523 patient were done in SSEH during the said period. These patient were sent by the vision centres. Patients were provided free To and fro transportation, food, medicines and operation facilities in the hospital. It is

notable that 6,380 poor patients of these centres were also provided free Tele Consultation facility on these centres. The poor old, weak and sick patients who are not able to bear the expense of consultation with ophthalmologist were provided this free facility. Tele Consultation examination method is based on I.T. System. Senior Optometrist based at vision centre sends the picture of ailing eye of the patient to ophthalmologist of SSEH on whats app or e-mail.

The surgeon also verbally enquire the condition of the patient on cellphone and thus the surgeon instantly prescribe the treatment. By this way the poor patients are being provided specialised services free ofcost.
