Extreme rainfall warning issued in many districts

Amid heavy rains in Madhya Pradesh, the Meteorological Department has issued an alert for very heavy to extreme rainfall in many districts. A red alert has been issued for Ujjain division and Rajgarh district in the next 24 hours. Very heavy to very heavy rain is likely here.

In 2006, Bhopal received 67.45 inches of rain. This time, it has rained 60 inches in the season. There are 38 days left of monsoon.

Apart from some districts of Gwalior, Narmadapuram, Indore division and Bhopal division, very heavy rain will also occur in Raisen, Bhopal, Sehore. Heavy rain is expected in Chambal, Sagar and Jabalpur divisions.

It has been raining in Madhya Pradesh since last 24 hours. During this period, Bhopal received the highest rainfall of 7.5 inches. 6.8 inches in Sagar, 6.2 inches in Jabalpur.

On the other hand, the Madhya Pradesh-Chhattisgarh connection has been broken due to the landslide in Anuppur. The flight to Bhopal has been cancelled. Some flights coming to Bhopal have been canceled and some have been diverted. Air India's Delhi flight has been diverted to Indore. Air India's Mumbai flight landed at Nagpur. Indigo Air's Delhi flight has been canceled due to bad weather.

The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of heavy rain in the region in the next 24 hours. Bhopal, Gwalior and Ujjain divisions may receive more than 5 inches of rain. At the same time, very heavy rain may also occur in Sagar, Damoh, Narsinghpur, Jabalpur. Apart from Rewa, Narmadapuram and Chambal divisions, heavy rain is also expected in Anuppur, Shahdol, Umaria, Dindori, Katni, Chhindwara, Siwini, Mandla, Balaghat, Khandwa, Dhar and Dewas districts.

In Narmadapuram, heavy rains continued since Sunday evening and continued on Monday as well. 4 inches of rain was recorded. The district administration issued a sudden school holiday order on Monday morning. Bhopal-Nagpur National Highway was closed due to flooding of river bridge in Sukhatwa.
