Drive to identify TB, leprosy patients from tomorrow

The Chhattisgarh government will conduct an intensive campaign from December 1 to identify Tuberculosis (TB) and                leprosy patients.

Health and Family Welfare Department Secretary Prasanna R told district Collectors that teams will go door to door to identify potential patients of both diseases, an official communication said on Tuesday.

Treatment will be made available to those found             positive.

The campaign will be done in two phases. The first phase will be held from December 1 to 21 in all                districts except Narayanpur, Sukma, Bijapur and Dantewada.

The campaign will be on in Narayanpur, Sukma, Bijapur and Dantewada of Bastar division from January 4 to 25, 2023.

The second phase will be from January 2 to 17, 2023 in all districts. On the basis of symptoms, TB tests will be conducted in all private hospitals, nursing homes as well as by private practitioners and chemists.

The names of identified patients will be entered into the portal. It will help in monitoring their treatment and progress. The hospitals will keep separate records of TB and leprosy patients.
