Wednesday, 07 September 2022 | PNS | Ranchi

Chief Minister Hemant Soren while addressing people on the occasion of the nature festival Karam Mahotsav said on Tuesday, β€œIt is a matter of great happiness and pride that we are carrying forward our tradition and culture. All of us have gathered today on the occasion of Karam, the natural festival. The primitive society on earth has its own tradition and culture. In this developing era, we have a challenge to save our tradition, culture and civilization, but coming out of all these challenges, today our young generation is working to advance the tradition, culture and civilization of the tribal-native. Today, Karam Puja Festival has been organized in many akhadas including streets, localities, houses. For the last 2 years, all of us were not able to organize the Karam Festival in a grand way due to the global epidemic corona infection, but now as the situation has gradually become normal, today again we are able to organize a grand festival of Karma Puja and sharing love, affection and happiness among ourselves.”

While addressing the Karam Mahotsav organized at Mahadev Toli, Lower Chutia, the CM said that today is the day to listen and obey the talk of the religious gurus and the tradition, culture and civilization. He said that today a large number of our sisters are participating in the worship program keeping a fast. We all have become witnesses of this holy time. Today is a day to share happiness among all. This enthusiasm towards the nature festival Karam Puja tells us how much we all love nature. I am sure that in the coming years also we will all work together to take forward our culture in this way.

Soren said that it is a matter of pride for all of us that we are that generation of the society where our ancestors have taught us to love nature, be connected and bound by nature. He said that today the whole world is facing the challenge of global warming. Big seminars are being organized on the topic of environmental balance. In these seminars, many important points related to environmental balance and conservation are being discussed. He said that in the present times, due to many reasons, there is large-scale interference in the natural systems. In the coming days, if there is a disturbance in the harmony with nature, then it can prove to be horrific for human life. The CM said that our ancestors have worked to keep us united towards the conservation of water, forest and land. I have full faith that in the coming times also, we will work to carry forward the traditions following the path shown by our ancestors. He said that no matter how much we touch the heights of development in this modern era, our foundation is the land itself.

Addressing the Karam Mahotsav organized on the premises of the Women's College Hostel, the CM said that the State Government is discharging its responsibility honestly. The state government is working to organize all the things one by one. The CM said that our government will develop the tribal hostels built by the Welfare Department in the state as multi-storage buildings. All the hostels will be connected with modern facilities. The state government will provide all these facilities free of cost to the students studying there. He said that all necessary arrangements including cook, security guard would be provided in the hostels of the Welfare Department. He said that no child would bring food grains from home. The state government will provide cooked food to the students.

The CM while congratulating the Jharkhand Police Men's Association at New Police Line greeted the members of the entire police family and their families on the nature festival, Karam Puja. β€œI must say that I am not new to this campus as the chief guest. My childhood memories are associated with the grounds of the New Police Line. Today, being present among you all, I feel that where I was, I am still the same. All of us, no matter how many heights we may touch or hold in high positions, should always remain connected with our society, culture and civilization,” he said.

Earlier, the CM was accorded a traditional welcome by Jharkhand Police Men's Association and all the police families, Tribal Hostel Complex at Women's College and Karam Puja Mahotsav Committee at Mahadev Toli, Lower Chutia Ranchi.
