Sales of Chhattisgarh Herbals products touched Rs 4.34 crore in the first nine months of the current financial year 2021-22. The sale in the last fiscal was Rs 2.15 crore.
The Chhattisgarh government has been promoting the collection, processing and marketing of minor forest produce and forest-based medicines to boost employment and regular income to forest dwellers, an official communication said on Monday.
The products are sold under the Chhattisgarh Herbals brand.
In fiscal 2019-20, the trading was of Rs 1.25 crores, which rose to Rs 2.15 crore in 2020-21. In the first nine months of 2021-22, it was Rs 4.34 crores.
At present the products are being sold through 30 ‘Sanjeevani Kendras’ in all the districts of the state.
Private entrepreneurship is being promoted to manage the distribution network. The products have now entered the open retail market through a network of dealers, sub-dealers and retailers.
The online sale is done through platforms like Amazon and Flipkart.
