The Chhattisgarh State Power Generation Co has clinched the distinction of being fourth among 33 state power sectors across the country in terms of power generation.
The power plants of the company achieved a plant load factor (PLF) of 70.40 percent in the financial year 2021-22 while the average PLF of all the power plants across the country is 58.86 percent.
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and Chairman Ankit Anand congratulated the officers and employees for maintaining such an excellent working style. 
The production efficiency was enhanced through better maintenance and quality coal management, an official communication said on Saturday.
The Central Electricity Authority (CEA) under the Union Ministry of Power stated that the Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Thermal Power Station (DSPM), Korba East Plant, has generated 89.22 percent PLF, setting a record. 
DSPM ranked fourth in terms of power generation among all thermal power stations (Central, State and Private undertakings) in the country.
Similarly, DSPM)Unit No. 2 has also made achievements in all-time minimum specific oil consumption. 
Oil consumption in that unit is 0.0427 ml per unit, less than 0.5 ml prescribed by CG State Electricity Regulatory Commission per unit. It saved about Rs.10.70 crores.
The Atal Bihari Vajpayee Thermal Power Station, Madwa Unit No. 2 has achieved an all-time minimum specific oil consumption of 0.47 ml per unit and combined all-time of 0.502 ml.
Unit No. 2 of DSPM Power House tripped only once in a year. This is also a record.
