Appointment letters given to 718 newly-recruited officers, employees in PSTCL
Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann handed over appointment letters to 718 newly-recruited officers or employees of Punjab State Transmission Corporation Limited (PSTCL) on the formation day of PSTCL on Saturday. Addressing the new recruits, Mann congratulated them and exhorted the youth to come forward to contribute for rebuilding the State. Power Minister Harbhajan Singh said that PSTCL’s transmission capacity would be enhanced to 39,588 in 2022 as compared to 38,160 in 2021.
SGPC executive meeting on Apr 26 to discuss about siropa to Patit Sikhs
Amritsar: The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee’s (SGPC) executive committee will be held at Teja Singh Samundari Hall, Amritsar, on April 26. The meeting will discuss about saropa (robe of honour) to patit Sikhs, said SGPC chief advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami. Notably, those Sikhs who wear turbans but trim their beards are among the patit Sikhs.

3 patients with thyroid problem treated successfully in Mohali
Mohali: Three patients with thyroid problems were treated successfully at Mohali’s Ivy Hospital recently. The 69-year-old woman had a long standing history of increasing thyroid gland. In the second case, a 74 years old man was facing severe neck pain along with difficulty in breathing. In the third case, a 64 years woman with an enlarged left lobe of thyroid which had started causing discomfort during swallowing and on lying down she has difficulty in breathing.
Nirankari Baba Gurbachan Singh Memorial Cricket tourney concludes
Chandigarh/Samalkha: The 22nd Nirankari Baba Gurbachan Singh Memorial Cricket Tournament was successfully concluded on Sunday at the Sant Nirankari Spiritual Complex, Samalkha, Haryana. This tournament was started on March 19 and as many as 115 teams were registered from almost all the states of the country, out of which mainly 48 teams were selected, said Sant Nirankari Mandal member incharge of press and publicity department Rajkumari. In the final match on Sunday, Mumbai-I defeated Amritsar, with Arun Yadav from Mumbai-I team was awarded with ‘Man of the Series’ title.
