Various programs are being organized by the AYUSH department of AIIMS Bhopal on the occasion of National Ayurveda Day. In the same series, today the Executive Director of the institute, Prof. Dr Ajai Singh, launched the Ayurvedic Swarna Prashan Sanskar for children at institute.
With this, "AIIMS Bhopal" became the first institute to start Swarna Prashan among all the AIIMS. In this program, the Director performed Ganesh aarti and worshiped Lord Dhanvanti. After reciting the swastika mantras, he offered homage in the havan. Thereafter, first dose of Swarna Prashan was given by Prof Dr Ajai Singh with chanting of mantras.
Director addressed that this is an ancient method, which is helpful in increasing immunity. He told how the severity of Japanese Encephalitis has been controlled by Swarna Prashan in Gorakhpur region of Uttar Pradesh. He said that this initiative of AIIMS in the form of Swarna Prashan program would help in saving children from serious diseases in the nearby areas of Bhopal. Further, Swarna Prashan will be organized every month in AIIMS on Pushya Nakshatra, which will be on 15th of November next month.
This is one of the 16 sanskars to be performed in children. It is specially given in Pushya Nakshatra. It is prepared by mixing honey, ghee, swarna bhasma and many ayurvedic herbs. It increases immunity along with memory and concentration in children. It is also helpful in the intellectual and physical development of children.
