Around 25 Input-Output companies gathered under one roof to brainstorm to boost agriculture and allied sectors in the State on Tuesday in which various future plans and strategies were chalked out to develop basic infrastructure in the field. The programme was held to boost Johar Project under Rural Development Department of Jharkhand Government.
The event was organized in association with the Johar project going on under Jharkhand State Livelihood Promotion Society (JSLPS) and Synergy Technofin Private Limited (STPL). The main objective of the program is to ensure market availability of the produce of the farmers associated with Agricultural Producers Organisation (APO). Simultaneously, a target was set to increase their income. The State leves various functionaries of 25 input and output companies participated in the programme.
The programme was inaugurated by Johar State Head, Amit Burman. On this occasion, he informed the people about the program's outline, purpose and impact of the program. Referring to livelihood, Burman said that through Sakhi Mandal, rural women are becoming economically and socially empowered, but it is necessary to increase their income and provide a big market for the agricultural products produced by them. He gave his important suggestions to take the agricultural produce to the national market. He stressed the need for marketing, disseminating the goods produced by the farmers. He urged the delegates present in the workshop to work together for the development of Jharkhand.
“The cadre will have to be technically trained and new technology will have to be provided to the farmers so that the production of the farmers increases. At the same time farmers can increase their income,” said Burman.
In addition to representatives of 20 Farmer Producer Organizations from 68 blocks of 17 districts across the state, agri outputs like Dehat Mother Dairy, Reliance Retail, IISCO Kaveri State, Ware Crop Science India Limited participated in the workshop. Through interactive session auditions the input companies emphasized on their working method as well as market system. Uttam Kumar, Secretary, Ranchi Market Committee, gave detailed information on linking FPO with eNAM.
In the program, Johar Chief Operating Officer, Vishnu Parida said that it is possible to increase the income of rural farmers only with the help of new product marketing strategy and branding. He said that the branding of rural products is not being done properly, so the farmers are not getting the value of their produce.
At the end of the program Synergy Sunil Kumar, Managing Director, STPL thanked all the participants. Simultaneously, he expressed hope that the workshop would prove to be a milestone for APOs in the State.
