Two orphans of Jagatsinghpur district have been selected for availing the benefits of the PM Cares for Children scheme launched by PM Narendra Modi on Monday.
The scheme aims to support children who have lost both the parents, legal guardians and adoptive parents due to Covid 19 pandemic since March 11, 2020.
So also the objective of the scheme is to ensure the comprehensive care and protection of the ill-fated children through financial support of Rs 10 lakh and health insurance cover of Rs 5lakh, besides provisions for their education and sustenance till they reach 23 years of age.
The district Collector handed over them an identification certificate, financial support, insurance card, support kits and a message of the Prime Minister, besides assuring them of providing necessary assistance as and when they require.
A cybernetic meeting on the occasion was attended by an ASP, CWC member, District Child Protection Officer, Child Security Officer, DIPRO and other staff members from the District Child Protection
