Chhattisgarh cabinet Ministers on Monday laid emphasis on systematic development and redevelopment of identified lands and dilapidated buildings in the state. Old trees as well as heritage buildings should be developed by preserving them.
The Ministers expressed their views during the Chhattisgarh State level Project Committee meeting chaired by Public Works Minister Tamridhwaj Sahu here.
Members of the project committee, Forest and Transport Minister Mohammad Akbar and Urban Administration and Development Minister Shiv Kumar Dahariya, were also present, an official communication said.
The meeting in detail discussed systematic development and utilization of dilapidated government buildings and vacant lands under various departments, corporations, companies and boards in the state.
This would be done under the recently issued redevelopment policy.
The discussions were held regarding development and use of Nutan Rice Mill Raipur located at Shanti Nagar, Old Government Residential Colony, Club Para and Gudru Para (Mahasamund), 36 Quarters Jagdalpur and Kangoli Jagdalpur and Samta Colony.
The Ministers said identified lands should be developed as per the guidelines of Naya Raipur Development Authority. Commercial, residential or only commercial or only residential projects may be prepared based on different options.
The Ministers added that a detailed study should be done regarding electricity, water, road, sewerage and traffic problems so that after developing into commercial or residential format, these problems should not arise.
