In a massive operation to nab criminals and curb crimes operation 'Prahar' was conducted against the criminals under the direction of Commissioner of Police Indore Urban Harinarayanchari Mishra.
Under this, in the intervening night of May 17 and 18, 2022, a special search operation was conducted by various teams in their respective areas against the miscreants who were involved in illegal activities, selling liquor, selling drugs and indulging in illegal activities.
There were 85 permanent warrants and 419 arrest and bailable warrants were served in this operation,338 summons pending before the court, preventive action was taken against 224 accused.
Among the arrested accused 32 who sold illegal liquor during the night were nabbed, 11 were arrested under Arms Act, 10 under NDPS Act, 6 accused of gambling and 78 accused absconding in various cases were arrested. Besides, 32 pending notices of various preventive proceedings were also served.
Police have also seized 18 two-wheelers from the possession of eight vehicle thieves after raiding in village Kirawali of district Dhar in the night itself. Intensive checking was also done for 413 listed goons, surveillance crooks, and suspects.
During the further investigation of other crimes and providing support would be done by the police.
