Realising the public inconvenience caused by the bad condition of NH-55, particularly from Banarpal to Angul city, Chief Secretary Suresh Mahapatra on Wednesday held a high-level meeting between the NHAI and senior officers of the State.
Reviewing the ground situation appraised by Angul Collector Sidhartha Shankar swain, the Chief Secretary directed NHAI officers to start repair works immediately for smooth movement of traffic. He also directed to expedite the construction of Angul City bypass road of NHAI.
NHAI CGM Ram Chandra Panda assured that repair and maintenance works would be undertaken on war footing. The Chief directed the district administration to provide all necessary support for the purpose. Angul MLA Rajanikant Singh also urged for immediate repair of the NH.
Works Principal Secretary Vir Vikram Yadav, Engineer-in-Chief Manoranjan Mishra and the Chief Secretary’s OSD Dillip Routrai participated in the discussion.
