A youth was stabbed to death in a drunken brawl at Raghunath Nagar under the Khandagiri police station in Bhubaneswar late on Sunday night. The deceased was identified as Sanatan Routray, who owned a mobile shop at the Dumduma market.Some youths entered into a fight with Sanatan over some matter. After altercation, the accused called some of his aides and they attacked Sanatan with sharp edged-weapons which led to his death. Police have detained four persons including two women in connection with incident. All of them are reported to be members from one family. Some other accused involved in case are still at large and efforts are on to nab them, police said.Police sources said detained persons were involved in illegal liquor trade.
The absconders have a number of cases pending against them. The body of the deceased youth was sent to a hospital for postmortem and police visited crime scene morning and began an investigation into the case. However, locals said all the accused involved in case were selling liquor illegally for a long time in area and involved in other anti-social activities.
