The State on Wednesday registered 565 new Covid-19 cases in 25 districts and the State pool, with which the total tally increased to 10,25,874.
Those infected included 63 children in the age group of 0 to18 years.In the last 24 hours, 58,635 samples were tested and the test positivity rate (TPR) was 0.96 per cent.m Notably, the State had reported 545 cases on Tuesday. Out of the 565 new cases, 328 were from quarantine and 237 local contacts. Kh0rdha district reported the day’s highest 256 cases followed by Cuttack with 61, Baleswar and Jajpur 28 each, Mayurbhanj 26, Jagatsinghpur 20, Puri 12, and Sambalpur 11, The districts which recorded below-10 cases were Angul eight, Bhadrak and Sundargarh six each, Dhenkanal and Kandhamal five each, Balangir, Ganjam, Kendrapada, Keonjhar and Koraput four each, Deogarh, Kalahandi and Nuapada three each, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Nayagarh, and Rayagada two each.
Besides, 56 cases were reported from the State pool. Five more persons succumbed to the disease in the State in last 24 hours, mounting the total toll to 8,192. Khordha district reported two deaths and Bhadrak, Jagatsinghpur and Puri one each. However, 467 patients recovered on the day, taking the total recoveries to 1,0,12,583 in the State.
