The Kotwali police have booked a shopkeeper for selling duplicate sun glasses of a branded company in Lalwani press road areas; in the raid a total of 1160 duplicate sun glasses were recovered.
Police said that around 1160 duplicate sun glasses worth thousands of rupees were recovered from shop no. 26 at Lalwani Press road.
According to the police, after receiving information shop no. 26 owned by Ashish Sachdeva was raided and found sun glasses which were sold in the brand name of Ray Ban.
In the investigation it was found that duplicate Ray Ban glasses were sold and when it was checked in the laboratory they were found fake.
The Ovens were sold as original product but were not having any batch number, no logo and other details of the company. The accused was booked under Copyright Act.
Investigation has been started and the manufacturers which are providing the accused such kind of duplicate sun glasses would be investigated.
Any network involved in circulating the duplicate sun glasses would be investigated. The original sun glasses and duplicate sun glasses have big different in prices. It would be investigated that the wholesaler was involved in the production of the sun glasses or he is part of the supplier and seller chain. The police have registered a case under Copy Right Act.
