A five-member delegation of the Samyukt Hindu Sangharsh Samiti, Haryana, met the Deputy Commissioner Gurugram, Yash Garg on Tuesday and demanded action on the demand letter given by the organisation on October 4 regarding offering Friday prayer in public places over the last two months.
The organisation demanded that Friday prayers should be allowed only at designated places. Mahavir Bharadwaj, the president of the organisation said that no one can be allowed to create a tense atmosphere by offering Namaz in public places and to violate the rights of the general public.
"Two years ago, during Ramzan, which was ideologically fixed for one month by the government at 35-36 places, only 18 places, were identified where the prayers can be offered. So it is necessary to stop it at any cost and Samyukta Hindu Sangharsh Samiti Haryana will take necessary action in the public interest for this," Bhardwaj said in a statement.
