NTPC's 46th Foundation Day was celebrated at the company's Rajabagi office. MVR Reddy, Executive Director, Pakri Barwadih Coal Mining Project (PBCP), hoisted the flag on the occasion of NTPC Foundation Day. He greeted the employees and office bearers of the company present on the occasion on the foundation day.
Reddy said that in this journey of 46 years, with 70 projects, the company has now become Asia's largest energy producer with an installed capacity of 67,657.5 MW.
Pakri Barwadih was declared the second winner for the National Safety Award for Mines for the year 2020. Also, for the year 2021, CII has been declared the second winner in the field of Safety, Health and Environment which is a matter of pride for us. Coal is being supplied to 22 projects of NTPC by Pakri Barwadih Project.
Coal extraction from Pankri Barwadih was started on 7th December 2016. Since then 30.31 MT of coal has been removed from 7948 rakes and sent to various projects from Banadag railway siding. Despite the Corona pandemic, especially during this second wave, all the members of the Pakri Barwadih family have been working in a team spirit and leaving no stone unturned in the production of coal.
The company mined maximum coal in a day on 03/11/2021, which is 36875 MT and this is the highest in a single day in this financial year. On this occasion, blankets and mosquito nets were distributed among the domestic workers and poor people of Barkagaon to avoid cold and mosquitoes by Executive Director MVR Reddy and President of Jagriti Mahila Sangh Padmavati Muthyala.
