Punjab first spot in crop residue management
Chandigarh: In recognition to the Punjab Government’s efforts of sustainable agriculture development through stubble management, the state Agriculture Department has received the award for ‘better crop residue management’ during the Progressive Agri Leadership Summit-2021.The state Agriculture Department’s joint director Sushil Kumar on Sunday received the award on behalf of Punjab Agriculture Minister Randeep Singh Nabha and every Punjabi farmer, who have contributed in this cause, said a spokesperson. He said the State Government has provided more than 86,000 straw management machines to Cooperative (PACS), Gram panchayats, Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), registered farmer groups, and individual farmers.
International Gita Mahotsav concludes
Chandigarh: The International Gita Mahotsav, which began on December 2 concluded on the banks of Brahmasarovar in Kurukshetra on Sunday. A spokesman said that lakhs of tourists and devotees have attended the festival. More than 3700 artists from 21 states and different countries displayed their craftsmanship during the annual festival. Famous artists like Chitra-Vichitra, Padmashree Malini Awasthi, Ranju Agarwal, Baba Maurya, Gajendra Phogat, Mahavir Guddu etc. also participated during the evening cultural programmes.
Sadda Punjab Coaching Institute for Civil Services preparations inaugurated
SAS Nagar: Punjab Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Intelligence, Amardeep Singh Rai inaugurated the new campus of Sadda Punjab Coaching Institution for preparation of Civil Services at Mohali. The Institution for the preparation for Indian Administrative Services (IAS), Punjab Civil Services (PCS), and other competitive examinations has been established by Munish Jindal, a renowned author of the books on Comprehensive General knowledge of Punjab — Sadda Punjab and and The Punjab Review.
