The five-day-long Monsoon Session of Jharkhand Assembly commencing on September 3 is likely to witness stormy scenes as BJP-led Opposition is going to corner the JMM/Congress alliance Government on several issues. Ahead of the Monsoon Session, the BJP legislative party members will sit and discuss the party's strategy for the session.
However, the BJP legislators are likely to raise issues where the government has failed. State BJP spokesperson Pratul Shahdeo said, “There are several fronts on which the state government has failed. The state government has failed to provide employment to youths. The government had said that 2021 will be the year of appointments but in the past eight month not a single vacancy has been released by any departments.”
Shahdeo also said that the new recruitment policy of state government where Hindi, English and Sanskrit have been left out while State Government in its appeasement policy have included Urdu language in the list of subjects.
Women atrocities, rise in atrocities against tribals, poor law and order situation, loot of mines and minerals, industrial units getting closed and other issues will be raised by BJP legislators. “The party leaders will also raise the government's failure to waive farmers’ loan. The JMM/Congress alliance had promised to waive loans of 20 lakh farmers, but till date not even one lakh farmers loan have been waived,” said Shahdeo. Meanwhile, the State Government has assigned the job to tackle Opposition attacks to seven Ministers. The seven Ministers who have been assigned the job to defend Government stand are Parliamentary Affairs Minister, Alamgir Alam, Transport Minister Champai Soren, Social Welfare Minister Jobs Manjhi, Agriculture Minister Badal, Drinking Water and Sanitation Minister Mithilesh Thakur, Labour Resources Minister Satyanand Bhokta and Health Minister Banna Gupta.
The monsoon session of the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly will begin on September 3. On the first day, there will be a program of taking oaths or affirmation. After that the ordinances issued by the Governor will be approved. After that, the proceedings of the assembly will be adjourned for the next day by passing a condolence resolution.
On September 6, the first supplementary expenditure statement for the financial year 2021-22 will be presented. After that there will be a debate on it the next day. It will be passed after debate on the expenditure details. This session will currently run till September 9. Many bills are likely to be introduced during this period. It is expected that the Medical Protection Bill will also see heated debates from both sides of the benches.
Meanwhile, as the monsoon session is going to be held amidst pandemic, Covid protocols will be followed by lawmakers and staff of the assembly. Wearing of masks/ use of sanitizers will be mandatory. Also, at Assembly premises arrangements will be made for vaccination.
