Punjab Governor administers virtual oath to PPSC member
Chandigarh: Punjab Governor and UT Administrator VP Singh Badnore on Monday administered the oath of office, allegiance, and secrecy to Hardyal Singh Mann as member of the Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) through a virtual ceremony held from Punjab Raj Bhavan. Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh also attended the virtual ceremony from his office.
Punjab school heads asked open students’ bank accounts
Chandigarh: Punjab School Education Department has directed the school heads to open the bank accounts of the students with zero balance so that they would not face any difficulty in getting the scholarship. Spokesperson said that the School Education Secretary Krishan Kumar has issued a letter to the District Education Officers and School Heads in this regard. Scholarships are being given to the school children under various schemes which go directly to their bank accounts, therefore, students receiving scholarships must have a bank account.
NGDRS migrated to State Data Centre Mohali
Chandigarh: The National Generic Document Registration System (NGDRS) and its database has been migrated from NIC Cloud Meghraj, New Delhi, to State Data Centre, Mohali. Informing this, the state Additional Chief Secretary (Revenue) Ravneet Kaur said that after sharing necessary credentials, the system’s test run was successfully conducted on July 11 by Sub Registrars and the other field staff. The new system is functional from July 12 through State Data Centre, Mohali, and the online services for registration of documents on website (https://igrpunjab.gov.in) has resumed.
Cong, SAD’s Zila Parishad and Block Samiti members join AAP
Chandigarh: AAP on Monday gained strength when president of the Ambulance Union and other leaders, including Zila Parishad and Block Samiti members and retired Punjab Police Welfare Association, joined the party after leaving the Congress and the Shiromani Akali Dal. AAP’s senior leader and Leader of Opposition in Punjab Assembly Harpal Singh Cheema, Dinesh Chadha, and Malvinder Singh Kang, formally inducted and welcomed the leaders and union leaders at the party headquarters here on Monday.
