Brahma Mishra elected UCCI president

Results the elections of the new office-bearers of the Utkal Chamber of Commerce and Industry (UCCI) Limited was declared on Saturday.

Brahmananda Mishra was elected as president for 2020-21 and 2021-22. His election was widely acclaimed by corporate houses and members of trade and commerce.

Ashok Shanda was elected as vice-president (commerce) for a second consecutive term. The other elected office-bearers are Deepak Rathore vice-president (general), Akshay Khandelwal (joint secretary) and Narayan Kumar treasurer.

Others were elected to executive body representing medium-scale industry medium trade and services, small trade and services and professional members category.

Outgoing president Ramesh Mahapatra, who steered the chamber for long ten years, blessed the newly-elected body.

Notably, the elections had been opposed by a small group, who had even knocked at the door of court. However, the Additional District Court refused to interfere in the election process.

Brahmananda Mishra expressed his gratitude to all members for electing him president of the prestigious body and hoped the chamber would be more vibrant and work for the interest of its members and for the overall development of the State.
