Bharatiya Janata Party state president Madan Kaushik said that the people of Uttarakhand will always remember how Narendra Modi has honoured Uttarakhand while also worked to change the state through development. He said that Modi has respected Uttarakhand by citing his spiritual connection with the state and set new standards in development with projects worth more than Rs one lakh crore. Kaushik said that after Modi’s Dehradun rally, the development projects worth Rs 17,547 crore launched in Haldwani on Thursday will definitely boost development in the Kumaon region. The connectivity will improve in Kumaon region while issues like sewerage and water logging in Haldwani will also be resolved. Improvements will also be achieved in roads, parking, street lighting and the tourism sector, he said, while adding that new employment opportunities will be created.
He said that various projects worth Rs one lakh crore are currently underway in the state. Kaushik said that the spate of development projects has stumped the Congress leaders. The Congress leaders should inform the public about what it did when it had its own double-engine government because then during a period of seven years, the Congress government at the centre has made only Rs 600 crore available. The Lakhwar project is starting after 46 years which is possible only under the BJP and Modi government, averred Kaushik
