The Jharsuguda AYUSH Doctors’ Association has submitted a memorandum to the district Collector, demanding regularisation of their job by September 30 or else they warned to launch a noncooperation agitation from October 2 which is Gandhi Jayanti.
As per the memorandum, around 1,150 AYUSH doctors are working in CHC/PHCs of Odisha on a contractual basis under the National Helath Mission, but their services are yet to be regularised. They have written to the Government several times for regularisation but to date, nothing has been done. "We had submitted our demand to the Health Minister and the 5T Secretary warning that if by September 30 our service is not regularising then we will non-cooperate from October 2. After 14 years of service under contractual arrangement, our job is not regularised despite repeated assurance by the Government in this regard,” said DrDibendu Kumar Sahu.
