As many as five more persons have tested positive for the Omicron variant of Covid-19, taking the total tally to 14 in the State, said the Institute of Life Sciences (ILS) on Thursday.
Meanwhile, the State registered 225 new Covid-19 positive cases in 22 districts and the State pool on the day, surging the total tally to 10,54,606.
Among the newly-infected were 37 children in the age group of 0 to 18 years.
Notably, the State had reported 221 cases on Wednesday.
Of the new cases, 132 were from quarantine and 93 local contact cases.
Khordha district reported the maximum 87 cases followed by Sambalpur with 23, Sundargarh 13, Baleswar 12, Cuttack 11 and Mayurbhanj 10.
The districts which reported below-10 cases were Jharsuguda nine, Keonjhar six, Deogarh five, Jajpur and Kendrapada four each, Puri and Balangir three each, Bargarh, Bhadrak, Nabarangpur and Rayagada two each and Dhenkanal, Ganjam and Subarnapur one each.
Besides, 20 cases were reported from the State pool.
The active stood at 1,428.
One more person succumbed to the disease, pushing the total death toll to 8,457. The lone death was reported from Khordha district.
So far, 10,44,443 patients have recovered in the State.
