Panic spread in the area due to a loud explosion in a building on Tuesday late evening at Madar Gate, a busy and densely populated area of the city. On information, the dog squad, forensic team, fire brigade, intelligence and police force of many police stations reached.
Evidence was collected from the spot. According to the police, prima facie someone may have thrown an explosive material in the garbage, due to which there was a loud explosion. At the same time, city MLA Sanjeev Raja and SP City Kuldeep Singh Gunawat also reached the spot. The MLA said that the matter should be thoroughly investigated.
There is a ruined building of Nawab Sahib Kheruwala in Mohalla Madar Gate area. According to the police, the furnace used to run here till 6 months ago. Everything was going normal in the market in late evening on tuesday, when the sound of a loud bang created panic in the area. People also got scared because similar blasts had happened a few months back in Mohalla Khatikan of Dehli Gate area.
