Northern Railway Celebrates World Environment Day

World Environment Day is celebrated annually on 5 th June for encouraging awareness and action for protection of the environment. To encourage the people for protection of the environment, General Manager Northern Railway Shri Ashutosh  Gangal  planted saplings at Sardar Patel Marg ,New Delhi today. On the occasion, Smt. Shikha Gangal, President, NRWWO and Members of the Committee also took part in tree plantation programmes in railway colonies to save the environment and encourage railway employees to make the environment clean and green for betterment of the present and future of our next generation.

World Environment Day Celebrations at  VIT-AP School of Law

World Environment Day-2021 celebrated at VIT-AP School of Law and inaugurated by Hon’ble Justice Adarsh Kumar Goel, Chairperson of National Green Tribunal. The event is organised mainly to remind us towards the protection of ecosystem. This year the United Nations is celebrating World Environment Day by asking the countries to pledge and to protect the environment by calling “Restoration of Ecosystem” and” Reimagine, Recreate, Restore”.

Environment Day observed in CLW

Chittaranjan:  World Environment Day was observed in Chittaranjan Locomotive Works (CLW).To mark the occasion an “e-Coffee book” titled “Paradise Found” was launched in digital format by Shri Satish Kumar Kashyup, General Manager /CLW. It highlights the rich flora, fauna and environmental preservation efforts of CLW.

Shri  Kashyup, GM observed that this unique initiative highlights the efforts of preservation of pristine environment and coexistence with nature. He further stressed that it will encourage youngsters to respect our nature and care for our surroundings.

SRMJEEE 2021 Phase-II to be conducted on June 29 & 30

Kattankulathur:SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST), earlier known as SRM University is conducting SRMJEEE 2021 in two phases for its various B.Tech programs. The Phase I was held May 2021. Aspirants who were not able to take the exams in the Phase I can now apply for the SRMJEEE - Phase II. The exams for the same will be held on 29th and 30th of June 2021. For more details visit www.srmist.edu.in. Examinations will be conducted through remote proctored online mode (RPOM). The last date of application for SRMJEEE will be 20th June 2021 for Phase II.  Students will be required to submit a valid email ID at the time of registration.

 Directorate of Tourism, Jammu organised plantation drive

 On this occasion Director Tourism Jammu,  VivekanandRai, IRS kick started plantation drive at YatriNiwas, Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu. The plantation drive at various other locations like Mansar, Patnitop, Katra, Rajouri, Kishtwar etc was later followed on. Speaking on the occasion Director Tourism, Jammu said “Amidst the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic that has put a halt to human activities and travelling, it is now essential for the Tourism industry and destinations to rethink sustainability and take regenerative actions. Beyond World Environment Day it is the responsibility of each of us to be more mindful of our daily actions and decisions to minimize to impact on the ecosystem”.

STPI to launch 12 centres of excellence soon

Hyderabad:The Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) will soon launch 12 more Centres of Excellence (CoE) in various parts of the country. STPI Director General, Omkar Rai, revealed this on the occasion of the 30th foundation day of STPI. AIC STPINEXT, a CoE in health tech, big data and Artificial Intelligence will come up at Bengaluru while CoE in agriculture will be launched at Akola.
