The Aul police in Kendrapada district on Monday arrested a teacher of a Government primary school for allegedly killing his wife for dowry.
The accused was identified as Bhimasen Sethy, a resident of Malapatna village under the Aul police station.
Bhimasen, who is a teacher of Singiri-based Chakradhar Primary School, was arrested based on the complaint of the deceased’s father Kailash Chandra Sethi, said Aul PS IIC Salil Kumar Pradhan.
Kailash said at the time of his daughter Kalyani’s marriage in 2008, he had fulfilled all the demands of Bhimasen and his family. But later Kalyani’s in-laws and Bhimasen started torturing her demanding Rs 1 lakh more. He alleged that his son-in-law and family have killed his daughter, said Pradhan.
