Sanya Khurana recently launched her first book ‘One Action’ that talks about women’s dreams and ambitions. It is a non- Fiction book where Sanya refers to patriarchy as a bug in human minds that starts growing at a very young age and evolves as one grows older. She talks about how Indian Media, Film Industry, certain Indian Rituals, and Customs increase the strength of the bug in the human minds.
Sanya is an enthusiastic Software Development Engineer, a TedX Speaker, and the Founder of Lean In India Network that aims to empower women towards their ambitions in India. As a teenager, Sanya had very low self-esteem and was filled with self-disgust for not being able to find herself 'fit' enough for the world but gradually she overcame that fear.
Sanya has very interestingly covered the 3 B's i.e Be Yourself, Be Powerful, and Be Bold. " Even in today’s times, our country hasn’t reached gender equality. Every woman in the country, irrespective of social status is facing some kind of gender stereotype at home or at the workplace. These stereotypes have stopped women from dreaming big for themselves or achieving their dreams, but enough is enough. Every woman needs to take that one action to break the stereotypes around them that have been a barrier on their way towards their dreams." Sanya Khurana, Author
In the last chapter of the book, she writes about her journey on how she gained the courage to start a Lean In Circle, how it grew into a Lean In India Network, and who all she met in her journey. Overall, the book aims to encourage women in every part of the country to come together, join hands, and fight gender inequality.
