On the initiative of chief managing director Vikas Narwal of Madhya Pradesh, Pashchim Kshetra Vidyut Vitran Company (MPPKVVC) for the first time came up with yearly revenue budget of Rs 15468 crore.
This budget will be spent for the year 2020 -2021 for purchasing electricity work salary maintenance and for other expenditure. The 90 percent of the budget will be spent for purchasing electricity, 6.77 percent for salary of employees and remaining amount for other expenditure. And to reduce the theft and line loss to approximately zero percent and for checking electricity theft and line loss the project of smart meter installation at every consumer house which is going on in Indore city area is now coming to an end and it has resulted in high growth in revenue generation and stopping electricity theft.
Now, from August month this installation of radio frequency smart meter will be done in Mhow, Dewas, Ujjain, Ratlam and Khargonne. The power secretary of MP and chairman of MPPKVVC Akash Tripathi approved both the planning of budget and installation of smart meters to different cities. CGM Santosh Tagore deputy secretary MP Power Ajay Choubey director Manoj Zhanvar executive director Gajra Mehta chief engineer S R Bamanke Puneet Dubey S E Kamesh Shrivastava D S Chouhan chief finance officer Narendra Biwalkar officers Sanjay Vatsa Subroto Rai S I Karvadia Aradhana Kulkarni Sailash Kardam Navin Gupta and IIT professor Tripati Jain were present during the meeting of approval of budget and inspection of smart meter control room.
According to sources presently there are many transformers in several cities of MPPKVVC area where DTR meter is not fixed on transformers which can give the clear detail of how much electricity is supplied from a particular transformer to a particular locality and the electricity consumed from the houses of that locality should be equal to the electricity supplied from the transformer. The DTR meter fixed at that particular transformer will immediately calculate the difference in the electricity and indicate the electricity theft in that locality.
