Higher Education Minister Dr Arun Kumar Sahoo on Wednesday informed the State Assembly that the State Government is implementing an IAS coaching programme in view of a gradual declining in the number of Odia IAS officers in Odisha.
“The number of Odia IAS officers is declining in the State. The Government has received proposals from different circles to provide IAS coaching to Odia students. Thus, the IAS coaching programme for Odia students has started,” the Minister said in response to a question of BJD MLA Anant Das.
The Minister informed that the training has been provisioned for 100 boys and girls. The State Government has inked an agreement with the “Dhyeya IAS” to provide training on March 7, 2019.
According to norms, eligible students would compulsorily attend 90 per cent classes. They would get training in two batches. While 50 will get training from 7.30 to 10 am, the rest 50 would get training rom 6 to 8 pm. This training is being provided free of cost to students whose parents’ income is below Rs 2 lakh per annum.
