Mystery call to scribes demands ‘Urdustan’; FIR lodged

The Lucknow police brass went into a tizzy after an ominous recorded message was sent over voice call to hundreds of senior journalists across the state on Saturday. Subsequently, an FIR was registered at Hazratganj police station against unknown miscreants .

While several journalists did not pick up the call made from international numbers, some recorded the hate message Almost all journalists, who are accredited with UP Information department, received the call.

The terse message said that a temple was being constructed after demolishing Babri mosque and don’t allow PM Modi to unfurl the national tri-colour from Red Fort on August 15.

It further stated that Sikhs were doing the right thing by demanding Khalistan and now they were demanding Urdustan, a separate country for Muslims.

After being informed about the ominous message, Commissioner of Police Sujit Pandey ordered a probe and the IT Cell was engaged. An FIR was lodged at Hazratganj police station under sections 505(1)(B), 505(2), 153A, 153B, 124A, 295(A), 298, of UAPA Act and IT Act.
