Intensifying its agitation against officials of the electricity department, Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee (JPCC) on Sunday wrote a letter to Chief Minister Hemant Soren and demanded to take stern action against guilty officials. JPCC Officials and workers also filed FIRs against the electricity department’s officials with various police stations of the State capital.
JPCC Working president Keshav Mahato Kamlesh, in a letter to Soren has sought to identify the officers and employees of KEI company and register an FIR against them due to accidents taking place regularly due to alleged negligence of the department.
A delegation of the party leaders has decided to meet the Chief Minister on Monday and also submit a memorandum in this regard.
Mahto said that due to the negligence of the electricity department, there have been many accidents taking place regularly in the State Capital, due to which the safety of the common people and staff of the power department is at stake. Separate FIRs have been lodged in more than half a dozen police stations in Ranchi, demanding action against the officials of the KEI company and the power department has been named accused.
In the FIR lodged by JPCC Spokesperson Alok Kumar Dubey at the Sadar police station area, it has been informed that due to the negligence of the electricity department and the KEL company, his brother Gopi Dubey got electrocuted by an electric wire. He filed an FIR against the owner of the KEL company, Pawan Nandi, Executive Director of the Electricity Department, KK Barma, General Manager Sanjay Kumar, Superintending Engineer Prabhat Srivastava, Executive Engineer Shambhunath Chaudhary and Assistant Engineer Virendra Kumar have demanded Anand Prasad Singh has been made named accused.
Youth Congress National Vice President Kumar Raja has lodged an FIR in Kotwali police station demanding the arrest of the culprits, Rakhi Kaur and Kumud Ranjanfiled at Jagannathpur police station area, Firoz Rizvi at Doranda police station area and Sukhdev Nagar police station. Soni Nayak in the area, Zakir Ansari at Pundag OP has lodged separate FIRs against the Electricity Department and KEI Company and demanded action.
Meanwhile, State Congress spokesperson Lal Kishore Nath Shahdeo, and Rajesh Gupta have said the struggle against officials of KEI company is not going to last till the result does not come.
