nThe Chhattisgarh government on Wednesday withheld the increment of five officers who did not withdraw the sanctioned amount for rehabilitation of bonded labourers for fiscal 2018-19.
Following the directives of the Ministry of Labour and Employment, the Raipur Labour Commissioner on July 7, 2018 sanctioned `10 lakh each to the offices of Assistant Labour Commissioner in Raipur and Raigarh and to the Labour Officer in Jagdalpur, Balodabazar and Mahasamund districts for setting up a Bonded Labourer Rehabilitation Fund, an official press release said.
As the sanctioned amount lapsed because it was not withdrawn within the stipulated time period, the rehabilitation fund could not be constituted, it said.
So, the government has withheld one increment each of Raigarh Assistant Labour Commissioner Vikas Sarode, then in-charge Raipur Assistant Labour Commissioner Shoaib Qazi, Labour Officers of Jagdalpur (B.S. Bariha) and Baloda Bazar (Tejesh Chandrakar) and Mahasamund Assistant Labour Officer Ghanshyam Panigrahi.
