Webinar on ‘Role of women in Agri' held

Bhopal: East-West Seed India and FICCI organised a webinar on ‘Role of women in Agriculture' in which Poonam Malakondaiah, IAS, Special Chief Secretary, Agriculture and Cooperation Department, Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development, and Fisheries, Government of Andhra Pradesh, Usha Barwale Zehr

Director & Chief Technology Officer, Maharashtra Hybrid Seeds Company Private Limited (MAHYCO), India, Archana Shukla, Associate Editor, Rural Affairs & Healthcare, CBC-TV18, Monique Van De Vijver, Innovation Manager Health, Solidaridad, Netherlands, participated as panelists. Mary Ann Sayoc, Head, Public Affairs, East-West Seed Global, moderated the session. Nearly 400 participants across India participated actively in the Webinar.

Said Dilip Rajan, Managing Director, East-West Seed India, in his opening remarks, "In India, agriculture continues to absorb and employ the female workforce but fails to recognize employed/hired labor. For East-West Seed, serving farmers in our business. While we work with smallholder vegetable farmers, we do focus a lot on women farmers. We provide training to rural women in improvised techniques in commercial vegetable farming and train young women to help them set up agribusiness ventures.

Meeting of Board of Directors of Narmada Basin Projects held

Bhopal: A meeting of Board of Directors of Narmada Basin Projects Company Ltd. held today at Mantralaya under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. In order to make the system more easy for obtaining loan for the execution of various projects of the company, the authorized share capital of Narmada Basin Projects Company Limited has been increased from Rs 50 crore to 5,000 crore. Approval was obtained on 14 important points during the meeting. 

The company took approval on the proposal of loan of Rs 7,500 crore from NABARD for execution of various irrigation projects of Narmada Valley Development Authority like Upper Narmada Project, Narmada Kshipra Multipurpose Project and Badnawar Micro Irrigation Project besides some other ongoing projects. Along with this, proposals for obtaining loan of Rs. 10 thousand crore from the bank for the execution of various irrigation projects of Narmada Basin Projects Company and Narmada Valley Development Authority.

In context to State Guarantee Fees, the company is required to pay State Guarantee Fees against 0.5 percent loan amount annually. In this way, about 1500 crore on the payment of full loan, will have to be paid against the loan amount of Rs. 24 thousand crore of 11 different projects. The Guarantee Fees of 0.5 percent per annum against the loan amount will be made one time.

Proper development of Religious places will take place: CM

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that proper development of holy Religious places will take place in the State. In the same manner, prominent melas will be organised with better system. The Teerth Sthan evam Mela Pradhikaran will play an important role in this direction. Chouhan said that on the occasion of assuming charge of newly appointed Chairman of Madhya Pradesh Teerth Sthan evam Mela Pradhikaran by Makhan Singh Chouhan. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan expressed hope that Makhan Singh will take the activities of the Teerth Sthan evam Mela Pradhikaran to the new heights.

Chouhan also reached Malviya Nagar located office of the Mela Pradhikaran and congratulated Makhan Singh. Minister for Tourism, Culture and Adhyatm Usha Thakur and several other public representatives were present on the occasion.

CM extends birthday wishes to Lata Mangeshkar

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has extended best wishes to the renowned playback singer Lata Mangeshkar on her birth anniversary. In his message sent to the legendary play back singer Lata Mangeshkar, CM Chouhan said that you are Sur Samragyi(Queen of melody) . Your voice is full of divine notes. You have mesmerized people with your melodious songs. Your crores of fans wish you healthy and long life. It is a privilege of Madhya Pradesh that you were born in Indore. Chief Minister Chouhan sent a congratulatory message to Lata Mangeshkar via tweet.  

CM calls stone pelting incident in Satna unfortunate

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan has described the incident of firing and stone pelting on protesters in Satna as unfortunate. Chouhan has directed to take strict action against the guilty police personnel.

Along with this, Chief Minister Chouhan has also given instructions to remove Superintendent of Police of Satna. Chief Minister Chouhan has directed to provide financial assistance of Rs 10 lakh to the family of the victim of the incident. Chouhan said that a judicial inquiry will be conducted into the entire matter.

As regard to the senior IPS officer posted in Bhopal, Chief Minister Chouhan said that no officer will be spared for any illegal work, even if he is holding a big position.
