In a major decision, the Chhattisgarh Housing Board on Saturday decided that instead of one time 15% registration fee, buyers will pay Rs 25,000 for Economically Weaker Section (EWS) houses and Rs 50,000 for Low Income Group (LIG) Houses.
Forest, Housing and Environment Minister Mohammed Akbar, who chaired the Board meeting at Paryavas Bhavan, said the relaxation will open avenues for sale of houses developed by the Board.
In another decision, the date of paying the next instalment has been extended till June 30 under the self-finance scheme, one-time payment and offer schemes constructed and under-construction allocated buildings by the Housing Board.
The decision was taken considering the closure of all Board offices during the nationwide lockdown from March 20 to May 17 when the beneficiaries could not deposit their instalments.
It was also decided to call e-tender for all works above Rs 20 lakh. Earlier, e-tender was mandatory for works above Rs 5 lakh.
The Minister directed the officials to provide relaxation for procurement of another house by any individual.
Now, an individual who purchases a Board property will be permitted to procure any property of the Board in the state.
