Haryana CM inaugurates, lays foundation of developmental projects in Karnal

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Saturday laid foundation stones or inaugurated several developmental projects worth `42 crore to the residents of Karnal district.

He laid the foundation stone of three developmental works worth `28.30 crore and also inaugurated seven developmental works costing ` 13.47 crore.

The Chief Minister laid the foundation stone of construction of a new road from Karnal-Munak Road to Bhusli Road. The road will be constructed at a cost of `81.19 lakh. Besides this, the foundation stone of a railway underpass that will be constructed on the Uchana to Rukanpur Road was also laid by the Chief Minister. The underpass will be constructed at a cost of `25 crore.

Similarly, a sports stadium will be constructed on 6 acres of land at a cost of more than `2.49 crore in Hathlana village in Nissing block.  The construction work has started and is likely to be completed within one year. The stadium will have a 200-meter six-lane track, volleyball court, kabaddi ground, basketball game facilities, multipurpose hall and toilets.

Similarly, the other projects inaugurated by the Chief Minister include a new road that will be constructed from Karnal-Indri road to Karan Lake-Uchana at a cost of Rs 60.62 lakh. Recarpeting work of road from Anaj Mandi Nissing to Singhra village at a cost of over Rs 1.60 crore. Besides this, he also inaugurated a new road that will be constructed from Aungad village to Kaithal constructed at a cost of over Rs. 1.9 crore.

Besides this, Khattar inaugurated the work of widening and strengthening of road from Alawala to Dachar at a cost of Rs. 3.87 crore, widening and strengthening work of the road from Dachar to Achhanpur to be done at a cost of Rs. 1.79 crore. 

He also inaugurated the widening and strengthening work of the road from Achhanpur to Rukasana to be done at a cost of over  Rs. 1.15 crore.  Lastly, a Facilitation Centre at Karan Stadium, in Karnal district which has been constructed at a cost of Rs. 3.25 crore was also inaugurated.

BOOSTING SPORTS FACILITIES

Boosting sports facilities for sportspersons in the State, the chief minister on Saturday approved an amount of Rs 1.35 crore for the construction of a boxing hall. Besides this, he also announced that six badminton courts will be constructed in the complex premises.

Khattar made this announcement after inaugurating a Facilitation Centre at Karan Stadium, in Karnal district built at a cost of Rs. 3.25 crore. Minister of State for Sports and Youth Affairs, Sandeep Singh was also present in the programme. 

The chief minister also honoured 22 students of Karnal district who had excelled in Board of School Education Haryana’s class XII Examination by giving them appreciation certificates. The programme was organized by the Education Department.

In the context of other demands raised related to Sports Complex in Karnal, Chief Minister said that he will be digitally interacting with Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Kiren Rijiju regarding sports facilities and it is expected that Haryana may get the desired sports facilities for the State, which would certainly help in fulfilling all these demands.

On the demand for a large sports stadium of International Level to be constructed for sports like cricket in Karnal district, he said that it is a matter of consideration at the moment. Referring to the cash incentive being given for playing traditional sports in the country, he called upon the players to join the traditional sports.

The Chief Minister said that emphasis is being laid on making Haryana a Sports Hub, under which National Level Sports infrastructure, training and coaching facilities will be provided in every corner of the State. Khattar said that the Sports Policy implemented in the State is the best in the country under which players have many facilities like cash rewards and reservation in jobs. He said that in all the Asian Games or Commonwealth or even in International Sports Competitions, players of Haryana have always excelled by winning the maximum number of medals for the country and have brought laurels to the State.

The sports facilitation centre at Karan Stadium has been constructed in about 20895 sq.ft area. On its ground floor, a VIP lounge, Junior Facilitation Officer(JFO) Room, Gym, Player Nutrition Centre, Locker / Changing Room for players, Practice Hall and toilet facilities for boys, girls and persons with disabilities have been provided.
