With an aim to provide better education to the children of government schools affected due to the lockdown, Godda Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bhor Singh Yadav and Deputy Development Commissioner (DDC) Anjali Yadav flagged off the ‘Gyanodaya Rath’ on October 1. “Since schools are shut during the lockdown, Gyanodaya Rath is an initiative to educate children in their village and it is hoped that more children will benefit from it,” said the DC.
The programme is being run by the district administration in collaboration with Adani Foundation. Through this initiative children will be able to see and understand through videos shown on LED screens. In the past too education was being provided to children through smart class and taking it a step further, this is an effort to improve the quality of education and also reach more children.
In the first phase from October 2 to October 8, smart classes for class IX and X of six government schools will be conducted at Godda, Poreyahat and Sunderpahari. During the lockdown education was made available through the Gyanodaya Godda app.
District Education Superintendent Phoolmani Khalko said, “As secondary examinations are approaching, in order to arouse children’s interest in studies and for good results, Gyanodaya Rath is a good initiative for high school students in remote areas.”
