The central public sector undertaking Gas Authority of India Limited will soon sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the UP State Industrial Development Authority for setting up a unit in the plastic city being developed at Dibiyapur in Auraiya district.
Five big industrial houses have also evinced interest for setting up their unit there and have sought eight acres of land.
The plastic city, spread over 359 acres, is being developed 8 km from Kanchausi railway station in Auraiya and 274 acres of its land is earmarked for industrial use and 84 acres for residential purpose.
UP Chief Secretary RK Tiwari on Wednesday reviewed the progress of the plastic city project. He was informed by the project authority that so far 77 industrial and 109 residential plots and one each for commercial and institutional purpose had been allotted.
Besides reserving a part of the Dibiyapur plastic city project for all categories of the industries, a proposal is being sent to the Union government for setting up a plastic city at Kanpur on the land available with UPSIDA.
The government has also issued a directive for setting up a police outpost there. The maintenance of the outpost will be done by the UPSIDA.
